In Croatia, one of the most popular holiday destinations for Austrians, the number of corona infections has recently risen again. So far, however, the capital Zagreb and the east of the country have been mainly affected, but hardly any tourist resorts. Nevertheless, tourism is of course suffering massively from the crisis; For this year only 30 percent of the income of the previous year is expected. But there are enormous regional differences; The region of the Istrian peninsula down to the city of Zadar can still be reached by car; these areas have a much better occupancy rate than Dalmatia and especially the port city of Dubrovnik. So far, the British and Americans have been the two largest groups of holidaymakers there.
